I am a lifelong boater as well as boat owner and  a committed professional devoted to the Marine Industry. I am an alumnus of Chapman School of Seamanship, where I completed their programs in Yacht and Small Craft Surveying, Damage and Claims Surveys, Advanced Damage and Claims and Professional Mariner's Training. I am an Accredited Marine Surveyor (AMS) in The Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS®) and an ABYC master marine technician, having been certified in Marine Standards, Marine Systems, Marine Corrosion and Marine Electrical. I am a USCG licensed captain and currently hold a 100 ton master's license with sailing and towing endorsements. I've logged 1,000's of miles, both inland and offshore, captaining charters in Tennessee, off the East Coast, the Gulf Coast, the Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands. In college I raced for the University of Tennessee Sailing Team, acting as Equipment Manager, Vice-Commodore and Race Team Captain. While racing for UT I also received my levels I, II &III Coach's certifications from US Sailing. Over the years, I have worked in various facets of the marine industry, holding positions ranging from dock hand at local yacht clubs  to delivery captain to  quality engineer and principal marine surveyor at Sea Ray Boats.
